The year of 2014 is officially for the eve
of World Cup, a famous competition that has everyone glued to their TV screens.
More than 32 teams are participating in this competition held in several cities
of Brazil.. Among them is team of team England with very famous and skilful
players like Wayne Rooney, Ross Barkley, Adam Lallana, and Gary Cahill in their
side.
The World Cup has not been the luckiest
for English team since their win back in the 70s. This year was no different as
the start of the event was horrifying for the people of England. In their first
match, they lost against the European giant Italy by two goals to one. Daniel
Sturridge was the only scorer for the English side. Though, it was a tough
match for both the teams but England could have won the match. Every English
fan criticised the decision regarding the team selection.
In their second match, England was up
against the two times world champions Uruguay, who lost their first game of the
event against Costa Rica. It was a do or die match for both the teams.
Eventually, the two-time world champion defeated the English side by two goals
to one. Liverpool Fc striker, Luis Suarez, scored both the goals for Uruguay
and Wayne Rooney scored the only goal for the English side.
English squad is full of talent but
their performance in this world cup has been the worst, they had in many years
since 1976. According to many critics, the tactics and selection are the main
cause for the defeat. Their last match will decide their fate in the World Cup.
